About Knights Bridge Winery

Knights Bridge is a family-owned winery that produces 100% estate-grown wines. The organically farmed vineyard rests on ancient soils created by a volcano eruption 3.79 million years ago. A singular property rising from 450 to 950 feet in elevation on the rocky slopes of the Mayacamas mountain range, the vineyard is shaped by cooling marine influences from San Pablo Bay, the Russian River, and the Pacific Ocean--natural forces that lend the wines their signature restraint and elegance. A remarkable diversity of exposures, slopes, elevations, and soil types defines the site, with 43 distinct blocks individually planted to specific varieties, clones, and rootstocks. This precision in the vineyard is mirrored in the winery itself. Designed by Howard Backen in close collaboration with ownership and the winemaking team and completed in 2021, the largely subterranean facility is purpose-built for thoughtful, small-lot vinification. Equipped with optical sorting, concrete and stainless-steel eggs, custom fermentation tanks sized to each block, and dedicated climate-controlled spaces for fermentation and aging, the winery quietly supports the distinctive expression of the estate.
